Wildwood occupies a moated site in Knutsford, Cheshire, where oak sawmilling first started over a century ago. Wildwood has continued this tradition of supplying selected kiln dried and air dried hardwoods for joinery, furniture, flooring and beam construction since 1992.
Logs are sourced from estates in Cheshire, Derbyshire, Staffordshire and Shropshire who practice sustainable forest management. Wildwood’s involvement begins in the forest with felling the timber and continues the process with in-house sawmilling, kiln drying and machining , giving close control over quality and specification.
At Wildwood the customer can view the whole conversion process, learn the provenance of the timber and see timber treated as a unique resource rather than just another commodity.
The company’s knowledge of how timber performs in seasoning and use has enabled Wildwood to supply the National Trust, the British Museum and several local authorities including Cheshire East and Cheshire West And Chester.
